Samsung Recycling Direct is a new cross-Canada service that will begin on April 22nd and will establish fifteen drop-off locations where Canadians can bring their consumer electronics, including mobile phones, televisions, cameras, VCRs, computers and monitors for responsible recycling by Global Electric Electronic Processing (GEEP), one of the country's leading recycling facilities. Anything made by Samsung will be accepted into the program for free (Samsung is covering the cost) and products by others brands will be accepted with a nominal fee. GEEP is an exceptional choice as a recycling partner (they are also used by Sony) as they do not incinerate the products submitted to them, nor do they send them to a solid waste landfill or export the toxic wastes to developing countries. It's all processed here at facilities here in Canada, using programs that are specifically designed to handle the unique material demands of consumer electronics. There will be drop-off locations in Montreal, Winnipeg, Dartmouth, Surrey, Owen Sound, and Toronto amongst others. You can find more details and a listing of drop-off locations at www.samsung.com/green
