It's been awhile since a new search engine has appeared on the scene. Duck Duck Go has arrived with the claim that it offers "less garbage and better results". It avoids many of the spam links that appear in the results of other search engines and uses simpler results listing and descriptions. It labels official links and supports ambiguous keyword detection, so if you type in Raiders or Apple, it knows to emphasize the brand name over the object. They also offer a Firefox extension and there's an iPhone App too. It's always difficult to find a compelling reason not to simply use Google, but then everyone needs a second choice, because sometimes you can't always find what you're looking for on the first try and Duck Duck Go does offer different results.
