To help explain the way Google achieves those interactive perspectives for their Street View feature, Google Japan commissioned this charming little animation that uses toy cars, wooden blocks, and a number of cute little machines that, if not quite like the real thing, at least explain the basics of the process. Notice that, in addition to blurring out some details found by the computer for privacy concerns, they also show the little 'bot receiving letters and calls from users requesting additional blurring too.
