Rogers has hired Canadian actor Joshua Jackson (Fringe, Dawson's Creek) to run around the city of Toronto next monday as part of a promotional tour for the Tuesday launch of the
HTC Dream and
HTC Magic, the first smartphones powered by Google's Android operating system to arrive in Canada. Jackson will be traveling about the city throughout the day, hitting five secret locations to meet with fans, hand out free phones, gift cards, and get them to enter for a high seas Caribbean adventure for two worth $4,000. Apparently Jackson will be quite the multi-tasker as he will be maintaining a blog at RogersRevolution.com at the same time that will give hints as to where each location will be, adding both blog posts and photos plus using Google Latitude, Google Search, and Google Maps to let online users track his movements. His first stop is set for 9am on Monday morning, at the Rogers Building at 333 Bloor St. East. He's scheduled to only stay 45 minutes at each location and then move quickly to the next, finishing the run at 2:30 pm.
