Since I featured the new Flip HD Camcorders on Canada AM over a week ago I've been swamped with e-mails and feedback from readers that the camcorders are hard to find. Some stores have 'em, many do not and not all the stores of a given chain. Representatives at Wal-Mart, for example say they have the camcorders for sure, but the feedback I'm getting is that not all Wal-Marts in Canada have them. I've contacted manufacturer Pure Digital for some clarity on this and they say the confusion at retail has caught them by surprise.

They tell me that the two best places to check include Amazon.ca who has the entire line of Flips and Wal-Mart. Reps at Pure Digital having been taking calls from consumers and helping them locate a nearby Wal-Mart that has them in their city or province. If you'd like to try that route you can contact them at help@theflip.com, make sure you tell them you are a Canadian consumers looking for a retailer and I'm told they will take care of you. With the number of people eager to get their hands on these and walking into stores looking for them, I can imagine that retailers are moving fast to find out what has gone wrong. When I have better information, I'll post it immediately.
