I don't know how many years our film reviewer Richard Crouse has been going to the Cannes Film Festival, but clearly as you can see from this televised report below, enough to have made quite an impression. The festival attracts a tremendous number of journalists and reporters, but the French take their love for cinema very seriously and if you yourself can demonstrate a genuine appreciation for the craft, and not just spend your time there on the Hollywood films in competition, but also the independent titles out of competition, they'll respond in kind. With new films this year by Park Chan-wook, Lars Von Trier, Jane Campion, Pedro Almodovar, Ang Lee, and of course, Quentin Tarantino, I really envy him the assignment. By the way, in addition to appearing every Friday on Canada AM, Richard now has his own TV show that airs on E! at 6:30 pm Sundays and on IFC Friday's at 10:30 am and it's awesome.
