Safari 5

For a long time now it has been a popular feature within Mozilla's Firefox browser, today Apple has added support for extensions within their own Safari 5 web browser. With the new version of Safari 5 for Mac and PC, users can visit the extensions gallery to one-click install a range of added features including live feeds from Twitter, eBay, Rotten Tomatoes and add-on features that filter webpages for annoying content, shorten web urls, or simply dim your desktop when playing streaming movies. To limit issues with security Apple is forcing all extensions to be signed with a digital certificate to prevent tampering and have sandboxed each add-on so it cannot access information on your computer or communicate with unrelated websites. Also included in the update is Safari Reader which presents web articles in a scrollable view to eliminate clutter.
