To keep up with the changing speed of technology Apple is replacing their line-up of Mac Book Pro laptops with new revised models that include upgraded components including faster processors, better NVIDIA graphics cards, and a battery life that can now offer approximately ten hours. The actual design of the laptops hasn't changed, nor has the price come down as many hope for, but the new insides aim to offer better performance.

While faster processors and better graphics may not be a big surprise, the change in battery life certainly is. For awhile now Apple has been focusing on tackling battery life, an issue that drew them a lot of criticism in the early years of the iPod, and they say they've now made several breakthroughs and can reach better battery life through a combination of "advanced chemistry, intelligent monitoring of the system and battery, and Adaptive Charging technology". Sadly this also means the new Mac Book Pros will not come with removable batteries, Apple explains that the built-in design creates less waste.

Changes in the 13" MacBook Pro, which include faster Core 2 Duo Processors, more RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce 320 M mean it can now handle more intense applications including games. It's available in two configurations - one with a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 250GB hard drive priced at $1,249 (CAN); and one with a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 320GB hard drive priced at $1,549 (CAN).

Changes in the 15" and 17" MacBook Pros mean an up to 50 percent gain in processor speed and with two graphics processors, the NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M for high-end graphics like gaming and the Intel HD Graphics for low-end use, the idea will be to deliver more efficiency too.

The new 15-inch MacBook Pro is available in three models: one with a 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5, NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M and 320GB hard drive at $1,849 (CAN); one with a 2.53 GHz Intel Core i5, NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M and 500GB hard drive at $2,049 (CAN); and one with a 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7, NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M and 500GB hard drive at $2,249 (CAN). The new 17-inch MacBook Pro features a 2.53 GHz Intel Core i5, NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M and 500GB hard drive for $2,349 (CAN).
