A quick recap: Google Maps is the one where you can scroll across satellite maps of the planet while Google Earth is the full simulation of the planet where you can flay through the stratosphere, from one point to another and access neat overlays that give you guided tours. Up until today, Google Maps was the one that you could easily access with your web browser while Google Earth was the piece of software that you had to download and install and hope that your computer was powerful enough to handle it. Well, that's changed as Google has now released the Google Earth Web Broswer Pulg-in. This also means that web sites can now add Google Earth visuals to their services and already there's a few who have done just that..
