In an effort by a New Zealand company to bring the "mall experience" to online shopping, The Mall Plus offers a virtual five-story shopping mall with real, retail stores. Using your mouse you can roam the floors, take the elevators to different floors, and stop by the directory to locate a specific store by category and wares. Each store has its own 3D space complete with tables, displays, cash register and virtual sales clerk. One online twist - each store has its own search bar making it easy to instantly find what you're looking for. This first 3D Mall is for the New Zealand market, but GenerateWeb, the company behind it hopes to build new malls for countries around the world in 2007. Is this the future of online shopping?
