There are three things I'd like to share with you about Wii Fit this week.
How To Get Wii Fit In Canada
Since it is sold out and everyone has been asking me how to get a copy, I put the question to Nintendo Canada and this is their advice: "Nintendo is shipping product every week. As far as the "best place to buy" goes, that will depend on a lot of factors, so I can't give you a firm response on that! Individual retailers will handle their product differently, but the best places to go would include the "big box" stores such as Zellers, Best Buy and Future Shop."
Find The Ultimate Balance Test
For those of you who did manage to get a copy of the game and are enjoying it, I'd like to share a hidden feature called the "Ultimate Balance Test". Although it's not the hardest secret to discover, there are people at Nintendo who didn't know about it until I told them,so a good chance you might not be aware of it either.

When you access the Training Screen, you should see an animated version of the Balance Board working out in the menu screen's background, puffing away on a treadmill. Hold the Wii remote cursor over it to have him react with an exclamation. Click on it and you will access a hidden challenge called the Ultimate Balance Test. It comprises of three tricky and progressively harder tests where you must balance your body to keep two level bars within a specified set of goal zones for three seconds. The last one is close to impossible, so don't feel bad if you fail. You'll be in good company.
Shaun White Snowboarding
In my Wii Fit Review I spoke on how the Balance Board would certainly be used for other non-fitness games in the future and that we should expect other game designers to offer more realistic versions of the skiing and slalom games included on the disc. This week video game publisher Ubi Soft announced that they are working with Olympic Snowboarder and Gold Medalist from the 2006 Olympic Shaun White on a realistic snowboarding game that, for the Nintendo Wii version, will use the Wii Fit Balance Board. "Shaun White Snowboarding" is expected to arrive this coming Christmas and will be the first snowboarding game to use real physics (instead of animation) to simulate the feel and challenge of going down a mountain. Players can use the Balance Board to guide themselves down the mountain trails while using the Wii Remote to activate airborne tricks.
