This coming weekend, Union Gas will be handing out free energy-saving kits to their customers as Home Depot locations in Guelph, Milton, London, Sudbury, Timmins and Waterloo and again in other areas later this month. Designed to help families reduce their energy consumption and save on their bills, the free kit contains one energy efficient massage showerhead, one energy efficient kitchen swivel aerator, one energy efficient bathroom aerator and two metres of foam pipe insulation. With these installed, the natural gas utility company estimates a family could save $100 per year on their energy bill. The kits hold an estimated value of just $35 and will require you to install the items yourself. I'm guessing that if you are not a Union Gas customer, Home Depot employees will be happy to help you find the same items on their shelves.
