”Let’sIt's hard not to laugh at Let’s Change Hillary, a website that allows you to drag-and-drop the presidential candidate's features with an outrageous selection of noses, eyes, and mouths. It's a cheap gag, but made well and sure to produce a laugh no matter what you may think of Mrs. Clinton. [More]

”TheIn the United States the National Archive plays the role of the country's record keeper, selecting 1-3% of all the documents generated by businesses to preserve and make available to the public for its historic value. But just gathering such information is only one part of the task, the other is to organize it and make sense of it. The Digital Vaults is an interactive experience designed to do just that, offering a visual web of records that have been cross-referenced and connected in such a way as to tell the stories and offer a larger picture of the country throughout the decades. It begins with a choice of eight randomly chosen files and then , based on your choice, leads you through a more detailed path. [More]

”LGAt a special pre-launch event held in downtown Toronto yesterday, LG Canada presented two models dressed as Adam and Eve, complete with boa constrictor, and announced that they were encouraging Canadians to give up their long, overdue wait for the elusive "apple" and to instead enjoy the forbidden pleasures of touching their cellphones with three new LG touchscreen handsets due to launch in the coming months. The Venus (through Telus), the Vantage (through Bell), and the Vu (through Rogers) all offer touch-sensitive screens that respond with vibrating controls. ”TimeTimeMachiner is a service that let's you send an e-mail set to arrive in the future. Just type out your message as you would normally with web mail and then choose a specific date and transmission of your e-mail will be delayed until that time. You can use it to send reminders or create your own time capsule project. This isn't the first website to offer the idea, FutureMe had the idea earlier, but I like the interface on TimeMachiner better. [More]

DropClock is a special screensaver for both Windows and Mac that displays time using photo-realistic animations of large, heavy numerals being dropped into water. If the water is clear, it's in the AM, if it's dark it's the PM. You can see the clip below for a demonstration. You can download and try out the screensaver for free, but to use it permanently, the creators at tha Ltd. are asking for $15 (which is a little hard to justify considering all the free content online, but it is unique.)

”Muxtape"It's the one great idea Apple hasn't thought of yet. Muxtape lets you create a mixtape, just as it was done back in the 80's with blank audio cassettes. After you register for an account, you can upload 12 mp3s from your computer and save them as a playlist that you can then send off to friends. When they click on the link, their browser will display the 12 songs in the order you selected for them to listen to. There's no ability to download, so you're not sending a copy of your music to keep, just a selection of your favorite songs to listen to. Its simple and elegant and you can listen to mixtapes created by other users. [More]

”PhotoshopAdobe Photoshop Express is a new, free, online edition of the popular photo-editing program. It is a far, far, simpler version of the one sold in stores, easier to use but also limited in its features. There's no layers or masking, you can't even resize an image, but compared to other online photo-editors, Express shines with several tricks. The "Touch-Up" tool is a simpler version of the Clone tool, which you can use to remove blemishes and objects. There are a number of filters and effects that allow you to distort and image or play with its exposure levels and the timeline which displays each editing step you make as a tile so you can quickly move back-and-forth between changes is enough to make it a top choice for online use. That and the inclusion of a photo organizer with 2 GB free storage makes its a good competitor to Picasa and Picnik. [More]
