Becky Irish PrankerA favorite of our make-up staff at Canada AM is Becky, an 8 year-old girl from Dublin who performs a number of telephone prank calls for a morning radio show. More than just the charm of a little girl making morning radio-styled crank calls (in one prank she tries to hire a demolition company to wreck her school), Becky has become an obsession at CTV for her Irish accent, brash courage, and offbeat sayings such as "Are yoo the top mahn?" and "Fill yer boots, mahn!". All four of her clips are being offered at MerchantPrince. [More]

The 67th Annual Canadian Toy & Hobby Fair took place this past weekend here in Toronto. The industry-only gathering is a chance for over 125 different companies, as well as independant toy inventors, to showcase their newest products due for release later this year in the summer and the big holiday season. Here's a quick teaser video I shot from the show. I'm currently putting together a number of articles, video clips, and a photo gallery which I will be posting over the next few days. Stay tuned.

FloatsA whimsical game of cute fish, Floats is unique in that you play the game by using your mouse to draw circles. As the small fish swim and circle about in the water on the screen, your task is to draw a circle or shape around two or more of the fish of the same colour. Do it right and the fish will join to form one larger fish. It's tricky, takes some getting used to, but is a great deal of fun. Ideally, if you're really good, you should be able to reduce all the fish down to just one big fish of each colour. [More]

Wash Your HandsThe problem isn't just the people who can't be bothered to wash, but according to these surveillance videos from a Toronto restaurant, it's also people who maintain filthy habits even AFTER they've touched soap. According to WashYourHands.tv, a viral campaign co-sponsored by the Toronto Restaurant & Bar Association, "92% of guys say they washed their hands, 34% were lying". The scenarios they re-enact in their videos are both funny and scary. I hope I never encounter a "backslapper". [More]

Windows Vista Ice HouseThe coldest seat in the house is easily the toilet, although that tub doesn't look too inviting either. Complete with a frosted mirror over the sink, look at all the little details, from the toothpaste in the cup to the face cloth on the rack. [More]

Windows Vista Ice HouseBuilt around a media centre PC running the "ultimate" edition of Vista (the one with move and TV-friendly media centre in it), the Living Room has the best centrepiece with its ice fireplace. Carved into the coffeetable is a magazine and sitting on either side of the LG television are a set of ice speakers (sadly they don't work). [More]

Windows Vista Ice HouseThe Windows Vista Ice House is an 1800 square foot home completely carved out of large, ice blocks. From the furniture, the appliances, the decorations, and yes, even the kitchen sink, everything is transparent ice, and everything has the details to give it that “lived-in look”. Everything that is, except for the computers placed in each room, running Windows Vista. Located at the Yonge-Dundas Square in downtown Toronto, the house will be open to the public starting at 10 am today. [More]
